Annual Canvass

Each year an annual canvass must be carried out to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the electoral register.

The revised electoral register will be published on 1 December 2016.

Household Enquiry Form (HEF)

Households in the district will receive a Household Enquiry Form with an individual security code.  This will list the people registered to vote at the property.  You need to confirm these details are correct or tell up about any changes.

You can confirm or make amendments online at  If your details haven't changed, you can also let us know by phoning 0800 197 9871, or texting NOCHANGE followed by your security code 80212.  Standard changes apply.

To use these options you will need the two individual security codes that appear on the bottom of the form.

If you are unable to use any of the automated options above, you should complete and send this form back to us (postage is free).

Invitation to register form

Anyone not already registered at the property will receive an invitation to register form to complete.

Alternative, you can register to vote online.

You'll just need your National Insurance number and date of birth - it will take around five minutes.

If you do not return the canvass form

You will receive a further reminder canvass form in the post and if you do not respond to this request for information, an Electoral Canvasser will visit with a final reminder to collect the information.
