Egress Switch Secure Email Encryption

Colchester Borough Council uses Egress Switch secure email encryption to protect sensitive information.


Egress Switch provides secure email links with the Council.  Colchester Borough is one of many organisations using Egress Switch to protect personal or sensitive data in transit.

To open an encrypted email sent via Egress you must be a registered Egress Switch user.  If you have already registered with Egress through another organisation you will be able to use your existing Egress Switch ID to communicate securely with the Council.

If you are not an existing user and have received or wish to send a secure Switch email, registration is a free, one-time process that should take no longer than five minutes to complete.

If a secure email is forwarded by the recipient to anyone else, that person will have to request permission from the original sender to be able to read the email.
